A little closer every day

Enough with the heron, you say. But today I got the closest ever. The heron was on the path doing his considerable business and then pondering the meaning of life. I got to within about 8′ of him before he flew off. I caught up with him down near the waterfall. I had the uncanny feeling that he recognised me and that is why I could get that bit closer.

The heron about 8' from me.

The heron about 8' from me.

The heron later on down near the waterfall.

The heron later on down near the waterfall.

Not the heron! Shurely shome misthake.

Not the heron! Shurely shome misthake.
